[ The Board of Exams of the Faculty of Architecture, Delft University of Technology, has decided to grant 'honourable mention' to Winyu Ardrugsa on the basis of "The theoretical model he developed to analyze urban space as a consumption interface. With this model he made an innovative contribution to the theory of (urban) space and to the relationship between spatiality and sociality in particular." ]

An Urban Researh and Design of Space of Consumption and Consumption of Space for Strategic Intervention in Siam Square, Bangkok, Thailand.

Major problem of siam square as once a vital commercial district in Bangkok is an arrival of capsularization phenomena as given condition. Within space of consumption, there is an increasing top-down power to control how to produce space. With in consumption of space, there is a homogenization of a specific mass group rather than mass of specific groups. Lastly, at the interface of consumption of space and space of consumption, consumer is increasinly manipulated through intense simulations and thematizations within the area.

However, the solution is not trying to break the capsule but rather to enhance an ultimate capsule where the given is given. Through preparation of 'heterogeneous parts and organic processes', vitality and vibrant siam square are expected to be brought back by 'combinatorial productivity' of such parts and processes.
