2001_DESIGN WORKSHOP FOR SUSTAINABILITY WITH ANN LACATON

In Chiang Mai, modernity and tradition are mixed together. The new city is constructed over the old city. By regarding to the workshop theme, double-functions is one of the way to make thing last longer for sustainability. But what about double meanings or multi-meanings? The idea of the project is to use 'mirror' as a new urban element as a free catalyst factor to allow people to perceive their city differently and to expose the current condition between new and old in Chiang Mai. The idea is experiment with the only transportation system in the city-the red van- and some of the city's important places.
