2000_ICP; ISLAMIC CULTURAL PLACE, BANGKOK, THAILAND
(selected project for 'architect 2000' asa exhibition, dissertation
project for b.arch.)
The project is mainly concerned about the interpretation
of two main islamic principles (believe & practice) into spatial organization. 'Believe' is related to
'Ritual Zone', while 'Practice' is related to 'Cultural Zone'. Two spaces are separated on different levels with different
organizations; random and linear. However, situation between believe & practice condition is considered as islamic
way of life. Consequently, two main spaces are hybridized by 'in-between open spaces' in relation to the context.
In addition, the possibility to approach the site from public park, river and street enhance the in-between condition
of the project.
